Privacy Policy
FunMinds ("we", "us") runs the website www.funminds.in. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. FunMinds is made for children, so we collect as little as we can. If you have questions, email hello@funminds.in.
1. Playing without an account
Anyone can play without signing up. We don't ask guests for any personal information. Game settings (like sound on or off) are kept only in your own browser, and guest scores are not saved to our servers.
2. Accounts are created by a parent or guardian
An account is optional and lets a child's progress be saved. Because users are children, an account must be created by, or with the agreement of, a parent or legal guardian, who confirms this when signing up. If we learn that an account was created without that agreement, we will delete it.
When an account is created we collect:
- the child's display name and an optional profile picture;
- the parent's or guardian's email address and Indian mobile number (used to verify the account and reset the password, never shown publicly);
- a password, which is stored only in a securely hashed form;
- game progress: stars, levels played and the number of cards answered.
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares the name, email address and profile picture of that Google account with us.
3. How we use information
- to run the account: log in, save progress and send sign-up and password-reset codes by email;
- to show the leaderboard (see below);
- to keep the service safe, for example limiting repeated sign-up attempts.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not track, profile or behaviourally monitor children, or use their information for targeted advertising.
4. The public leaderboard
Accounts that have earned stars appear on the global leaderboard with their display name, profile picture, stars and number of cards answered. Email addresses and mobile numbers are never shown. You can change the display name or picture at any time, and we may remove names or pictures that aren't appropriate for children.
5. Advertising
To keep FunMinds free, we may show ads from Google AdSense on browsing pages, never inside a game. Every ad request is marked as child-directed, so Google shows only non-personalised ads and does not use interest-based targeting or remarketing. Ads are clearly labelled "Advertisement". Google may use cookies or similar technology to show ads, limit how often an ad is shown and prevent fraud. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
6. Services we use
- Supabase: accounts, database and profile pictures, hosted in India (Mumbai);
- Brevo: sends the sign-up and password-reset emails;
- Vercel: hosts the website;
- Google: optional Google sign-in, web fonts and, where enabled, AdSense ads.
These providers process information only to provide their service to us.
7. Storage, security and retention
Information is sent over encrypted connections, and each account can only read and change its own data. Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted automatically after 2 days. We keep an account until it is deleted. When you ask us to delete an account, we erase it, its progress and its profile picture within 30 days.
8. Your rights
A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or delete their child's information, or withdraw consent, at any time by emailing hello@funminds.in with the subject "Privacy request". We respond within 30 days. This contact is also our grievance contact under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For important changes, we will tell account holders by email.
